Nov 21st- GRNG 101's- Planters, Aquaponics,etc.

Algae Team- 

Ordering algae-Chlorella c1/30  L118- $8.00 from Connecticut Valley Biological.

Objective is a high-fat algae that produces lots of oil, eats toxins, and whose oil can be extracted with an oil press or some chemical process, such as hexane extraction- see http://science.howstuffworks.com/environmental/green-science/algae-biodiesel2.htm

Investigated nitrate/phosphate plant food-




Checked temperature on bottle system.

Planter Group:

Prototyped planters made from recycled soda/water bottles:




Began constructing prototype of bamboo watering-can pole:



Suggested to Ben that side pole that tilts watering can should slide up and down pole, which will tilt can(if hinged near spout)- otherwise it cannot effectively pour.

Bicycle Group:

Worked on bicycle stand. Using 3/4" PVC to hold up bicycle.
